it’s impossible
to know the thoughts of someone
who shifts positions
a clever liar
might look you straight in the eye
but shift in their seat
the sand shifts
as evening tides swell
to the sea

I feel for you. Almost lost my hand from a cat bite several years ago. Dominant hand in traction. Learned to eat with my other hand…even write. Definitely tests you!

Oh wow, didn’t know that! At least it is not my dominant hand. Although in 3rd grade I broke my dominant wrist and got pretty good at writing left-handed, now I’m just pecking at the keys on the keyboard with my right hand but doubt I could actually write with pen anymore if it was he left.
